A talk by Dr. Richard Kirkby, explaining how climate change and rising sea temperatures are affecting the entire planet's ecology - at Waterstones bookshop, Plymouth. (Dr. Kirby has published a book called 'Ocean Drifters - a secret world beneath the waves', which is very good at showing what plankton do, and their very important contribution to the life in the oceans, and of course to mankind's health and survival.) Wednesday, November 24th at 7 pm. (Has now taken place)
The Science Museum in London has recently opened a new gallery which explores the science behind global warming. It cost £4.5 million and is called the Atmosphere gallery. from December 2010 onwards.

Plankton 2011 - Plankton biodiversity and global change - past, present and future. SAHFOS is presenting an international Symposium on understanding the causes and consequences of long-term changes of plankton in fresh and marine waters. See the website - www.plankton2011.org.
